Just Cuts Campbelltown has gained global recognition at the recent Just Cuts International Conference in Fiji. The locally owned and operated Salon took home three prestigious awards, including the Owners Choice Award, Best Community Contribution, and Hair Stylist of the Year.
Salon Owner Joanne Ashkar, who has worked at Just Cuts Campbelltown for over 25 years, working her way up and taking over the Salon in 2016, expressed her pride in her team's achievements.
"This recognition means the world to us. Winning these prestigious awards reflects our team's hard work and dedication to both our Clients and our local community. I am so proud of the entire team, especially for their ongoing commitment to giving back."
Joanne highlighted their long-standing involvement in the local community, particularly through their work with We Are Community Incorporated, a charity that provides services to homeless individuals.
For over five years, the Salon has volunteered monthly, offering free haircuts at the charity's roast dinner service for people experiencing homelessness. "We have a dedicated team who always put their hands up to help, and that community spirit is what makes our Salon so special," said Joanne.
In addition to community work, the Salon also supports the Macarthur Breast Cancer Gala, an annual event held at the Campbelltown Cube Convention Centre, which raised over $140,000 last year.
Local Stylist Cheng Cruz Canlas, who only joined Just Cuts only two and a half years ago when she moved to Australia, was named Hair Stylist of the Year for 2024.
"I'm incredibly honoured and still in shock. It has been such a rewarding journey. I'm just so grateful to be recognised and to have received all my support from Joanne and my team leader, Lucinda, since joining the team," Cheng said.
