Brand new look Just Cuts Meadow Mews salon opening next Wednesday

27 Jun 2023

Just Cuts Meadow Mews is celebrating 18 years in successful small business by moving into a brand-new spacious salon to meet the growing demand for fixed price Style Cuts in Launceston.

Just Cuts Launceston Operations Manager and fully qualified Stylist Sue is excited to be bringing her local Clients a brand-new experience when the salon opens next Wednesday morning.

“It feels like Christmas for the whole team to be moving into a new salon. We have to thank the owners John and Georgie Apostolou for investing in us and our loyal Clients for years of support.”

“Budgets are tight for everyone with the rising cost of living. No one wants bill shock, and with Just Cuts you know what you’re paying before you walk in,” said Sue. “My team and I are so excited to have much more space and increase our capacity from 5 to 8 chairs to style even more Clients.”

“Just Cuts is a no appointments salon so we’re unique. We can offer a Style Cut the day you walk in, and in this centre you can grab a coffee or do the shopping as well. My team look after a large area of Tasmania - we have farmers travel two hours from the north east and east coast as Clients. With free parking here it’s so easy for them to come do their shopping, visit the doctor, bank and post office – they get everything done in one trip.”

Just Cuts Meadow Mews opened in 2005, and one Stylist has worked in the salon for 17 years.

“Stability is important in small business. When people walk past and recognise us it’s always nice to get a smile and a wave. This isn’t a salon where you’ll walk in and see 5 faces you don’t recognise.”

“As a fully qualified hairdresser I love the simplicity of it - we’re a tight knit team and family comes first for all of us. We don’t have to cancel on Clients if a Stylist is sick and rebook them – everyone on my team is a qualified, confident hair expert. Just Cuts is also a chemical free salon so we can focus on styling and cutting hair, and we’re so excited to have the opportunity to continue doing what we love in a new, modern salon environment.”

Sue says the biggest change in Style Cuts over the years is the terminology, rather than the cut.

“Top trends in Launceston at the moment are mullets and fades for men, with concave bobs and wolf cut shags for ladies. Staying up to date with social media trends on Tik Tok and Instagram is important for us, as well as understanding what styles famous football and AFL players are using.”

“We had one Kid last week who wanted to look like Ronaldo and we were able to make it happen.”

Just Cuts Meadow Mews opens at 8:45am on Wednesday 5th July. The first 50 clients on opening day will receive a goodie bag with sample Justice haircare products, complimentary shampoo and dry off for their next salon visit, and some extra surprise gifts. The salon is also running a $200 haircare hamper giveaway which will be drawn on July 12.
