Just Cuts highlights importance of mental health

  • Just Cuts partners with leading  AccessEAP to provide salon owners, stylists and staff with counselling services, tools and resources to support mental health and wellbeing
  • AccessEAP is an Australian owned not-for-profit organisation with over 30 years’ experience in providing mental health awareness.

Leading hairdressing franchise Just Cuts has highlighted its commitment to the wellbeing of staff with the launch of a new mental health program.

The franchise network has partnered with leading mental health awareness and support provider AccessEAP to give franchise owners, stylists and staff access to a range of counselling services, tools and resources. This is the first time Just Cuts has partnered with Access EAP.

“2020 has been a challenging year for many and in difficult times, it’s so important to look after yourself, both physically and mentally,” says Just Cuts CEO Amber Manning.

“At Just Cuts we are committed to doing what we can to support healthy and thriving workplaces and teams. We are therefore very pleased to be partnering with AccessEAP. Through the AccessEAP app our salon owners, stylists and staff will have access to a range of great tools and support to help overcome daily challenges, manage stress and be the best they can be at life and work.”

AccessEAP is an Australian owned and not-for-profit organisation with over 30 years’ experience in providing mental health awareness. It also gives back to the community in a number of ways including through supporting disadvantaged children and indigenous communities.

The AccessEAP app enables users to access wellbeing tools and resources based on individual preferences, goals and interests and check-in regularly to monitor their wellbeing journey with the Wellbeing Tracker.

“Creating healthy and happy workplaces and teams is so important and we look forward to seeing our Just Cuts owners, stylists and staff benefiting from this wonderful program in the future,” adds Amber.

AccessEAP CEO Sally Kirkright has congratulated Just Cuts and encourages more employers to think about ways they can support their staff.

“Every sector across our country is moving through a period of rapid change. It has never been more important to provide staff and teams with the tools and support they need to successfully navigate change and protect their mental health. We commend the Just Cuts leadership team for taking this step through partnering with AccessEAP and we look forward to seeing the network and it’s staff benefit in the future.”

More about Just Cuts

Just Cuts is an Australian hairdressing franchise that bridges the gap between a barber and a high end hair salon. With salons in every state of Australia, on both the North and South islands New Zealand and the United Kingdom, it is the largest hairdressing company in the Southern Hemisphere. Based on a fixed price, no appointment system, Just Cuts offers clients affordable haircuts from fully qualified hairdressers and performs over 100,000 Style Cut cuts per week across Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.

Celebrating 30 years in 2020, Just Cuts was the brainchild of Denis McFadden, who turned a simple idea into a business concept that would change the hairdressing industry forever. McFadden ran his first ever “no appointment, $6 Style Cut” promotion at his humble Sydney salon, receiving an outstanding response from clients. It was on this basic fixed price initiative that the idea of Just Cuts was born. The following year, the inaugural Just Cuts salon opened its door to the public. And in 1990, the first Just Cuts franchise opened in the suburb of Engadine, in the south of Sydney, New South Wales. Our brand has continued to expand ever since, with over 220 locations across Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.

In 2013, Just Cuts launched JUSTICE Professional – a range of salon quality haircare and styling products available exclusively in all our salons at a competitive, affordable price. The JUSTICE Professional line has something for everyone, including everyday shampoos and conditioners, anti-dandruff and dry scalp treatments, toning products, nourishing leave-in treatments and a range of hair styling waxes and sprays.
