MULTI-UNIT TASMANIAN SUPER DUO TAKE OUT #1 PRIZE AT
JUST CUTS INTERNATIONAL FRANCHISE AWARDS
Tasmanian Franchise Owners have taken out the top gong at this month’s Just Cuts Franchise Awards held during the company’s Annual International Conference on a P&O Cruise from Brisbane to Airlie Beach, Queensland. Cassandra and Damian Colefax took out the award for Franchisee of the Year. They are the successful Owners of eight Just Cuts salons; in Devonport, Eastlands, Glenorchy, Hobart, Kingston, Meadow Mews, Northgate Glenorchy and The Quadrant Mall in Tasmania.
Damian and Cassandra were awarded for their outstanding operational performance, investing in the ongoing training of their Teams and their positive relationships and, helpful demeanour with other Owners in the franchise system. Damian and Cassandra opened their first Just Cuts in 1999, in Tasmania and in the 20 years since they have successfully celebrated the Grand Opening of seven more Just Cuts across the state.
It’s fair to say this super dynamic duo are a force to be reckoned with in Tasmania and the franchising industry as a whole. Just Cuts Tasmanian salons service over 5% of the state’s population. Cassandra serves as an elected representative on the Just Cuts Franchise Advisory Council, and Damian sits on the Franchise Council of Australia, Franchisee Committee representing not only Just Cuts franchisees but all franchisees across Australia.
Cassandra and Damian took out the top spot ahead of over 90 other Just Cuts franchisees.

They have successfully implemented confident policies into their network to support their Stylists. They invest in the personal development and skill sets of their Team and consistently participate in Just Cuts Owners meetings, innovation committees and feedback forums. They always have time to support other Owners, which clearly demonstrates their passion for the brand. Cassandra and Damian are an impressive powerhouse within the Just Cuts family” said Just Cuts General Manager, Amber Manning.
Cassandra and Damian were humbled and emotional upon being presented the award.
Cassandra said, “From humble beginnings, we are honoured to be the first Franchisees to win this prestigious award on three (3) separate occasions. Our Team’s and our personal commitment to following the Just Cuts System has been paramount to our success over the past two (2) decades. We are grateful to be acknowledged by the Just Cuts Academy Team considering the calibre of Franchisees amongst the group. More about Just Cuts
Just Cuts is a hairdressing salon that bridges the gap between the old-style barber shop and the high-end hair salon. Our fixed price, no appointment system is a convenient and practical solution for our Clients, offering them convenient, quality Style Cuts™ cuts from fully qualified Stylists at an affordable price.
Just Cuts was the brainchild of Denis McFadden, who, back in 1982 turned a simple idea into a business concept that would change the hairdressing industry forever. Always one to make the most of every situation, McFadden decided to run a promotion at his humble Sydney salon to boost business and offered all Clients a “no appointment, $6 Style Cut”. The response was outstanding, and the idea of Just Cuts was born.
The following year, the inaugural Just Cuts salon opened its door to the public. And in 1990, the first Just Cuts franchise opened in the suburb of Engadine, in the south of Sydney. Our brand has continued to expand ever since, with over 220 locations in Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom now open.
And in 2013, we answered the calls of our Clients and Stylists and launched JUSTICE Professional – a range of salon quality, paraben free haircare and styling products available exclusively in all our salons at a competitive, affordable price. The JUSTICE Professional line has something for everyone, including everyday shampoos and conditioners, anti-dandruff and dry scalp treatments, toning products, nourishing leave-in treatments and a range of hair styling waxes and sprays.
