Celebrating 10 Years of Franchise Ownership: Peter & Lenka’s Just Cuts Journey
For Peter and Lenka, the journey with Just Cuts has been one of commitment, growth, and seizing opportunities. From Lenka’s beginnings as a stylist to becoming successful multi-salon owners, their story is a powerful example of what’s possible within the Just Cuts network.
Their ownership journey began on 1 April 2016 with the purchase of Just Cuts Warrawong. Since then, they’ve expanded their portfolio to include:
- Just Cuts Nowra – a brand-new salon opened in January 2017
- Just Cuts Batemans Bay – acquired in November 2020
- Just Cuts Ed Square – a brand-new salon opened in August 2024
Now, as they celebrate 10 years as franchise owners, their growth reflects both ambition and belief in the model.
From Stylist to Owner
Lenka’s journey with Just Cuts began in 2000, giving her over 26 years of experience within the brand. Having worked in salons owned by Lyn Ryan, the opportunity to purchase Warrawong felt like the natural next step for both her and Peter.
Recognising the simplicity and strength of the Just Cuts system, they felt confident taking the leap into ownership—something they now describe as one of the best decisions they’ve ever made.
Achievements Along the Way
Over the years, Peter and Lenka have achieved some incredible milestones, including:
- Expanding into a successful multi-salon portfolio
- Launching Nowra from scratch and delivering one of the busiest opening days recorded by the Academy
- Growing Nowra into a top 10 performing salon nationally, with consistent year-on-year growth
- Being recognised as Multi-Site Owners of the Year (2024)
Their journey has included risks and challenges, but their willingness to back themselves—particularly when opening new locations—has played a significant role in their success.
A Network Like No Other
What Peter and Lenka value most is the supportive and collaborative Just Cuts community.
From sharing ideas to helping one another with staffing, the network is built on genuine connection rather than competition. A recent example saw a stylist relocating from Canberra seamlessly join their Batemans Bay team, thanks to strong communication between franchise owners.
“The support network we get from other owners and the Academy is amazing. It’s something you don’t often see in other franchises.”
Lifestyle and Balance
Owning a Just Cuts franchise has also provided flexibility and work-life balance. With proven systems in place, it’s not a business that requires constant in-salon presence, allowing them to focus on both their business and personal lives.
They’ve also embraced the full franchise experience, attending every conference, owners meeting, and event, gaining valuable insights while building lasting relationships across the network.
Supported Every Step of the Way
Lenka’s long history with Just Cuts helped make the transition into ownership smooth, but it’s the ongoing support from the Just Cuts team that has made the biggest difference.
From relocating and rebuilding the Warrawong salon to launching Nowra within months, the Academy provided guidance across construction, marketing, recruitment, and operations, making a complex process feel structured and achievable.
Looking Ahead
As they celebrate a decade of ownership, Peter and Lenka reflect on their journey with pride and gratitude, especially to the leadership team who welcomed them into the Just Cuts family.
With a strong foundation and a growing portfolio, they’re excited for what’s ahead and are already looking forward to the next decade of success with Just Cuts.
