From South Africa to Salon Success: How Terence Doosi Turned His Dream Into a Thriving Just Cuts Franchise

Terence Doosi’s Franchise Journey Inspires a New Wave of Business Owners in Australia

From starting over in a new country to becoming a successful multi-site salon owner, Terence Doosi is living proof that the Australian dream is alive and well, and it starts with the right franchise.

Terence, originally from South Africa, made the bold move to Australia seeking safety, stability, and a better future for his family. With a background in business management and customer service, he knew he had the drive to succeed, but he needed the right opportunity to make it happen.

That opportunity came in the form of Just Cuts, Australia’s largest hair salon franchise known for its walk-in, no-appointment model and commitment to quality and consistency. After gaining hands-on experience managing the Just Cuts Armidale salon from 2018 to 2019, where he was also proudly sponsored, Terence made the life-changing decision to become a franchise owner.

“I was immediately drawn to Just Cuts’ values of consistency, community, and customer-first service,” Terence says. “What really stood out was that I didn’t need to be a hairdresser, the brand provides training, systems, and support to help anyone succeed.”

With the support of the Just Cuts franchise network and head office team, Terence launched his own salon, quickly gaining a loyal client base. Today, he owns salons across Queensland and Victoria, and he’s just getting started.

“There were challenges, of course, navigating a new country’s regulations, building the right team, and adapting to a new market,” he recalls. “But the franchise community and support system at Just Cuts made all the difference.”

Now an established franchisee and proud employer, Terence is passionate about expanding his business and inspiring other migrants to follow in his footsteps.

“Owning a Just Cuts franchise changed my life. It gave me purpose, stability, and the chance to build something meaningful,” he says. “If I can do it, so can others.”

Just Cuts is actively seeking motivated individuals from all backgrounds to join its growing franchise network. Whether you're an experienced entrepreneur or simply ready for a new start, Just Cuts offers the tools, training, and support to help you succeed.

“To anyone thinking about making a big life change or starting a business, my message is simple: don’t let fear stop you,”Terence says. “The right franchise can turn your passion into a purpose, and your purpose into a thriving business.”
