Just Cuts Franchise Owners turn teams yellow for R U OK Day

Just Cuts Franchise Owners across Australia switched colours to yellow today to mark R U OK day.

R U OK is an Australian suicide prevention charity that aims to start life-changing conversations.

Just Cuts Franchise Owners and their Stylists wore yellow to raise awareness for the organisation, and used in salon decorations and social media tiles to champion the charity in salons this week.

The theme for R U OK Day 2020 was to encourage people to #stayconnected with each other.

CEO of Just Cuts, Amber Manning, said stylists are conversationalists by trade who chat with clients from all walks of life to understand what they want, and pick up on signals that reveal how they feel.

“Being a Stylist sometimes means also being a confidant, as we know that engaging conversations can be an important part of making our Clients look and feel great about themselves.”

“Our Stylists have a unique power during the pandemic, touch. The styling chair is a stage and every Style Cut is an opportunity to engage with Clients, helping them stay connected during COVID-19.”

“It’s a scary time right now for many in our community, particularly our Victorian Franchise Owners who face closures until October 26.”

Amber said Just Cuts supported R U OK Day because many people don’t know what to say next after hearing someone is struggling.

“A conversation can change a life. If someone sits in our chairs and says they’re not ok we keep the conversation going, from kids stressed at school to adults dealing with work or family pressure.”

“Meaningful conversations are vital. They build trust and break down barriers, which is something our Stylists do every day for clients by simply following their gut instincts.”

“There’s so much more we can say after asking R U OK?”

More about Just Cuts

Just Cuts is an Australian hairdressing franchise that bridges the gap between a barber and a high end hair salon. With salons in every state of Australia, on both the North and South islands New Zealand and the United Kingdom, it is the largest hairdressing company in the Southern Hemisphere. Based on a fixed price, no appointment system, Just Cuts offers clients affordable haircuts from fully qualified hairdressers and performs over 100,000 Style Cut cuts per week across Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.

Celebrating 30 years in 2020, Just Cuts was the brainchild of Denis McFadden, who turned a simple idea into a business concept that would change the hairdressing industry forever. McFadden ran his first ever “no appointment, $6 Style Cut” promotion at his humble Sydney salon, receiving an outstanding response from clients. It was on this basic fixed price initiative that the idea of Just Cuts was born. The following year, the inaugural Just Cuts salon opened its door to the public. And in 1990, the first Just Cuts franchise opened in the suburb of Engadine, in the south of Sydney, New South Wales. Our brand has continued to expand ever since, with over 220 locations across Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.

In 2013, Just Cuts launched JUSTICE Professional – a range of salon quality haircare and styling products available exclusively in all our salons at a competitive, affordable price. The JUSTICE Professional line has something for everyone, including everyday shampoos and conditioners, anti-dandruff and dry scalp treatments, toning products, nourishing leave-in treatments and a range of hair styling waxes and sprays.
